Day 62 #isolationcreationpartdeux ⠀
On being John Singer Sargent’s Madame X...
It’s Halloween in confinement, a hallow’s eve that feels truly haunting. The buzzer does not ring with trick-or-treaters, there is no pumpkin basket waiting to be filled with handed out candy. Yes, even in my small village in France these traditions have, in previous years, crossed over.
Instead, I am playing a woman who has been long gone by now, some sort of exceptional beauty whose meaningful traits disappeared along with her. All we have is a painting to gaze upon but what were her memories? Who was she? Come to think of it, do we ever really know the people we see projected? We might think we do, but the heart is an ocean of secrets ... and what is a ghost without something to be haunted?
