Day 91 #isolationcreationpartdeux⠀

Hands, how important hands are, they touch one human to another in so many ways. I think about my grandmother’s hands in the garden, I can still remember the curve of her thumb as she cut the roses. The elegant fingers of my other grandmother who painted stories that I wish I could ask her about now as a grown woman. What we do with our hands — making food for each other, playing music for our souls to fly away to, creating art, or the images that speak to our existence are made with our hands. We were here and we were touched by it. ⠀

These roses were the final roses of the season from the garden of an American artist Anthony Ramos, living in France for over 30 years. He gave them to me under one condition, not that I photograph them, but that I stop and smell the roses. ⠀

Let’s all try to be touched today and do our part to touch someone else as simply as these roses touched me.⠀

Thank you, Tony.
