Day 22 #isolationcreation
I didn’t know what I was going to photograph this morning. I took a walk to our local épicerie in town, one of the very few farm stands still open. What delight! White asparagus! In fact, all the offerings were a true taste of spring. Then I thought to myself how wonderfully reassuring it is while we are on pause that nature reliably marches on...
Everything in this photograph, aside from the antique marble which I did buy here, was made here in Provence in close distance to where I live. From the flowers to the vegetables, hand dyed french linens by @laboutiquedelantiquaire to the white artisan pottery by @reves.dargile I borrowed from my neighbors @camycooney @johnbcooney.
There is something to it, living within the local DNA, putting a face and name with a personal story to everything that just simply makes sense. It feels calm and grounding. It is something I hope we can maintain when the pandemic passes, learning to live with what makes our surroundings beautiful and looking less to the outside world for more.
