Day 60 # isolationcreation ⠀

I have been dreaming about this walk with Eloise, out of our village and into the beautiful landscape that surrounds us, since before the lockdown began. As we drove my eyes adjusted to looking at a distance, vistas in my backyard that have been locked away for an entire season. The vineyards have turned green and the cherries hang from the tree in preparation for summer coming fast. And then, the poppies. Poppies in France are a symbolism of remembrance. I couldn’t think of a more fitting end to represent freedom than being lost in a see of nature, walking among the flowers that shall remind us, not to forget. Not to forget the lessons we’ve learned during this time of isolation, not to forget that it is not yet over, not to forget the ones we love and to always remember the fragility of life. ⠀

Thank you for the support and for being here with me.⠀

I wept in the shower today. It felt like mourning a loss of life. To let this thing go I relied on to get me through each day and the community I leaned on for support and light. This project must come to an end, because its purpose was to be a memorial, a live diary of living through a historical moment in time. It served its purpose and gave us gifts we could have never anticipated. Just as the flowers can be blooming and dying on the same branch, all is a cycle of life, this project’s cycle has come to a close. May you stay safe and be loved by ones you love in return. ⠀

Thank you on behalf of myself, Kevin, and Eloise ⠀

Leave a comment below, I would love to hear which day was your favorite, which one you collected and why, or what this series as meant to you personally? ⠀

Tomorrow we will not weep, we will celebrate the good, talk about what was and what comes next. Meet me here at 8pm, Wednesday May 13, I’ll bring champagne.
