Today, with my work attestation in hand, I went to Aix-en-Provence to take care of some client work. It's exactly 52 minutes from where I live — 24 miles as the crow flies over the hilltop villages Provence is so famous for. Aix, with its stores closed and empty grand boulevards of shuttered restaurants, was eerily quiet. On the way home I watch the world I have come to love pass by, even though dormant in this winters moment, but always without fail, rain or shine, this drive through Bonnieux takes my breath away and I pinch myself... I can’t believe I live here.
