The most unexpected thing happened this morning when I went to the garden to water the roses. Two baby birds seemingly moved in overnight. I sat with them perched on the bars under my old metal table and talked to them for a bit — “What do you prefer, crickets or worms?” “How high can you fly now?” “Where’s your mama?” One of them twisted its head listening, two curious souls gazing back at each other. I reached my hand out to see if it was afraid and to my surprise and delight, it hopped on my finger! I showed it all around my garden, what I’ve planted, what I hope to do next. When mama bird returned it left my finger for breakfast and I went inside to start my work day. But I couldn’t work, it was tapping on the window! So I let them into the studio and said “let’s make something” and that we did.
I had so much work to do and it all literally flew out the window. Life gave me a huge gift and, so, today was for the birds. 🐦💞
As per your vote in stories, their names are Édith & Marcel after the iconic french singer Édith Piaf and her great love Marcel Cerdan!
I just hope they are still there come morning.
