Rose Month Day 15: Cherries & Château Roses
Yesterday at the market the first of the cherries arrived. It really feels as if the wheels are full steam ahead now toward summer. I bought the asparagus and strawberries because soon they will disappear, replaced by summer stone fruits and banquets of tomatoes.
It’s all about living in the moment, what is good and available on this day and appreciating it to its fullest before it is gone. I guess, a practice we should apply to every aspect of our life. The roses and young wheat from the garden of the château are still striking as they rest on the fireplace mantle. So here is a moment in time plucked from the earth on a quiet Sunday morning in Provence.
