Day 15 #isolationcreation

I am kind of starting to get used to the new normal. I feel less trapped and panicked in the day and I think less, or maybe feel less, confined from the loss of freedoms we so easily once took for granted. It feels more strange to me now to be walking outside within the village than it does for me to not be able to leave home. It’s funny how we can adapt, maybe it’s a good thing... maybe not? Whatever it is, my mom told me, “you sure are making lemonade” -

Today was the first time in a week I left home to buy some groceries at my local épicerie. I love citrus this time of year in Provence, freshly cut with stem and leaves attached. I probably use citrus every day- salad dressings, sauces, marinates, fresh squeezed orange juice... it is a way of life. After I returned home and disinfected my body and belongings I spent the morning in the garden with Eloise. It was warm enough to play with the watering hose which lead us to discover a little snail 🐌 just as curious about us as we were of him. I brought him inside to my citrus world full of promises of sunny days ahead and let him roam free even if we can not. This afternoon on an Instagram live chat with @vivietmargot someone pointed out how poignant the snail is for today, a true representation of our lives slowing down...
