Rose Month Day 17: The Gardens
Over the last two days I have done nothing but eat from the garden. Medicinal herbs, delightful salads and edible flowers… what a delight! Such a lesson in the holistic nature of balance. The job of the bugs, the job of the compost, the effect of weather that ultimately ends in surprising gifts of color, perfume, inspiration, meditation and delight. Oh what can I say, I am in love with being in the garden!
After a pleasant terrace lunch under the shade of a tree today, I walked down to look at the growing vegetables I just consumed. A blue butterfly caught my eye and I watched it for some time glittering in the sun. We are all talking about the dreaded heat of summer coming, forecasting it’s going to be brutal this year, but right now the flowers don’t seem to care as they reach toward the sky in a riot of color. There is nothing to do but smile and paint with the eyes.
Thank you @chateau_de_mille for the roses and @fleurs_d_arles for the garden flowers and pea shoots 💚💐🦋🪲
