Day 33 #isolationcreation

I woke up today thinking about the painter Paul Cézanne’s studio in Aix-en-Provence. He was very particular about his walls, and I too can understand that fixation. I wondered how much of his day was done working quietly alone in his studio with everyday objects from around the house. I also have a bowl of apples, a linen table cloth and a reusable wine jug. But mostly I thought about sitting there alone in his space, looking out the north facing windows and I realized that we are always alone when we work, mandated or not, and it is what we can discover in that mental isolation that can blossom into a voice for all.

This photograph is inspired by his work which was created not far from where I live in Provence.
