Well, here we are, in confinement on Thanksgiving, and what a moment to take pause in the midst of all this “strangeness” and see how much we have regardless to be thankful for. ⠀
There is so much symbolism in this photograph, our life here, picking up autumn leaves Eloise adores in her second year on earth. The coffee grinder from my dear friend @katehill who taught me to use it as a pepper mill and every day when I do, I think fondly of her. Last year for Thanksgiving I was at Kate’s house in Gascony along with my other friend @sallielewis.co who came down from Paris. Kate made us stuffed cabbage, how marvelous! How different life was, wow. I see my friends in this bottle of wine, the young couple @domaninemilan who trusted me this year to photograph their world for their labels. What a sheer joy that was as a photographer. There is so much to be thankful for. My little family, that everyone I know and love is still alive and ok, that the sun will rise again tomorrow and anything and everything is always possible when it does. I am thankful to you all for being here with me, some for more than a decade (!), and helping me grow as an artist, blossom into a mother, and find my way one photographic frame at a time. ⠀
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and with all my heart, thank you.⠀
