So far we still have our markets. When last confinement started we had the markets until they too were shut down with nearly everything else. I messaged my neighbors ‘market on?’ They reported back "yes but smaller." I’ll take it. ⠀ ⠀ I hit up my usual stops- my cheese guy, my apple guy, I waved through the window to the team @cafelesvalseuses preparing takeaway orders. Ah! My favorite organic flower farmer from up on the hill is here! She has a small bouquet, perhaps the few remaining flowers from her autumnal garden. I am delighted. The market in its organic weekly changing ways is always a source of surprise and inspiration. ⠀ ⠀ There is undoubtedly symbolism in art. A fallen glass, a vase of water, tangled flowers, a butterfly... I know what they represent to me, what about to you? This can of course be simply a still life of seasonal market flowers on this first day in November but it can also be so much more... it’s all in how you read the language of art.
